Brunswick Family Assistance Food Pantry
The congregation has a continuous collection for food to the food pantry in the administration building on campus. Over 3000 pounds of food are collected annually for the pantry.
Pastor’s Food Pantry
Non-perishable food items are collected continuously to stock St. Luke’s small emergency food pantry for those
families needing assistance when the local food pantries
are not open. Food is dropped off in the church office
The food pantry is available during regular
church office hours.
Meals of Love
St. Luke volunteers prepare a dinner every 5th Friday of the month for the families of the Cape Fear Hospice patients. Meals are made for 12 people. Sign up is on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.
Union Elementary School Supplies
Every August school supplies for the students at Union Elementary School are collected by the congregation so that all students may have the necessary supplies for learning.
Annual Paper Goods Drive for Family Assistance
Every Fall the congregation collects paper goods for Brunswick Family Assistance. Boxes are placed in the Fellowship Hall to Drop off contributions. If needs require, special collections are made at other times of the year depending on the Center’s demands.
Neighbor to Neighbor Coat Collection
Coats for men, women & children are collected from October through the first week of December. The coats are given to St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Shallotte. The coats are distributed to families in need in Brunswick County. Gently used coats can be dropped off in the Fellowship Hall.
Christmas Tree of Hope
A pegboard Christmas tree is placed in the Fellowship Hall containing “Wish List” tags for needy children in our area during November. This program is coordinated by the Brunswick Family Assistance Agency. Tags are designated for a boy or girl. There also are tags on the tree for school supplies needed at Union Elementary School.
South Brunswick Interchurch Council (SBIC)
Members of the congregation participate in a weekend food distribution once per quarter at the SBOC Food Pantry at Camp United Methodist Church in Shallotte. Periodic food drives are organized by the congregation when the pantry is in need of extra supplies.
Funeral Reception Program
St. Luke provides a reception for families after a memorial service. It gives an opportunity for family and friends to gather to share memories of their loved one while sharing a light meal. Volunteers donate food to create the meal.
